Six Points and the DRA

If you acquire 6 or more points on your drivers' license within an 18-month period, you are penalized by the DMV and assessed a Driver Responsibility Assessment (DRA) fee. The DRA is based upon the type of violation and the total number of points on your driver's license. It is better to retain experienced traffic ticket defense lawyers to fight every traffic ticket that you receive.

Our guarantee is simply this: If our attorneys are not able to get your traffic ticket reduced, we will refund our fee!

Speeding

If you get three speeding tickets in 18 months' time, your drivers' license will be revoked for at least six months. A conviction of driving over the speed limit by:

  • 1-10 miles per hour puts three points on your license.
  • 11-20 miles per hour puts four points on your license.
  • 21-30 miles per hour puts six points on your license.
  • 31-40 miles per hour puts eight points on your license.
  • More than 40 miles per hour will result in 11 points, which will cause the revocation of your license.

A DWAI or DUI conviction results in an automatic loss of license.
